Hot soup in your Vitamix blender

Best Vitamix Deal in Australia

I am often asked how the Vitamix blender can make hot soup when it has no heating element in it. It’s a perfectly valid question, and one that puzzled me before I learned about the machine.

Watch the video below to learn how to make hot pumpkin soup in under 5 minutes in your Vitamix. You can start with raw vegies, pumpkin, carrots, celery and some stock or water and some cinnamon for a bit of spice if you like. Teresa adds half an apple for sweetness too. Basically throw it all in, blitz it for 5 minutes and it’s steaming hot. The heat comes from the blades as they’re spinning around, so while this won’t keep something hot with an element like the $2,000 Thermomix is designed to do, you can certainly make hot soup, sauces, gravy etc from scratch, with cold ingredients and have them come out hot at the end.

Another great tip from Teresa is to pop a bit of protein in towards the end (already cooked) and slowly blend on around speed 2 so it’s not completely pureed. The video uses beans, some left over chicken would work just as well. We have a variety of cooked beans in our bpa free canned food in the organic food section of the store, but you can just as easily be super prepared and soak your own dry beans overnight which is a more budget friendly option.
